Wow! It has really been a long time and I am working diligently to get everything back up and running here and on YouTube.
I got a new computer and home network for Christmas so that is finally done. I am at least connected now...slowly, but connected.
Somehow, my email got hacked yesterday though! Luckily, my free anti-virus software caught it before it did any harm though! (Now, I'm a FIRM believer in anti-virus! Its a small price to pay for the piece of mind!) It didn't harm my computer but the hacker sent emails to everyone on my contact lists on both my makeup address and my personal address so I scrambled to contact everyone I could before they opened the email and ended up like my BFF, Mandy, with a crashed computer. I feel SO bad about that too! Crummy thing...it happened while she and I were on the phone together! Now, she is without a computer until next month when she visits back home to get it fixed! I'm sorry honey....AGAIN!!! So, as you guessed it, I have a new email address and I have closed my old ones! If you ever have a question or a reason to contact me, please do so through the new address above! :) I try and check my account at least every other day!
Were also in the middle of remodeling our house as well. We had some damage to our roof that the insurance company decided deserved a new roof and a new interior ceiling! YAY! So, to get new walls to replace the old, 80s paneling throughout the living areas, we decided to do the majority of the work ourselves to really get the most out of our money! Yes....I helped put the roof on this house, put up drywall, and primed until I am just sick of it! This has been my past two weeks! All of my makeup and craft room stuff got crammed in our guest room and we have been living out of our two rooms this entire time. Were putting the living room back together tonight because my father in law is coming to pick up his trailer tomorrow. I spent my morning unloading 6200 pounds of shingles, molding, old sheet rock and insulation at the dump! How glamorous! LOL!
So, you see...just with the little I have shared, I am sure you can all tell that I have been overly busy this past, well, month! I am diligently working to try and get a space to begin videos again and get back to blogging on a regular basis. I will probably only be doing basic things. I don't have a great deal of cash right now to try new products because I am still on the job hunt. I may also start a craft channel or blog as well....IF I can find the time that is! (Note: If you have a job and hate it, don't just quit! Start looking because even the crummy jobs are hard to come by! My advice for the day!) I will do all that I can though. I really miss doing YouTube and I miss talking to you guys on here and via email everyday! :) If for some reason all my efforts don't work out and I am unable to make videos or blog for any reason, I will certainly let you all know! However, that is not the plan at this point!
Thank you all for being so patient with me and still subscribing! It means a lot to me to open my accounts after so long and see that people are still coming by and wanting to stay! (Even if it is just a few, it means a lot to me! I may not have a million subscribers like some, but the ones I have I will always cherish!)
Take care and I will hopefully have the moment to talk to you all again soon! Once the first stage of this portion of remodeling is finished, I will take post some before and after pictures for you all to see! :)
Keep smiling! :)

Audrey Kitching...What A Makeup Inspiration Is She??
I am just now learning about this gorgeous, pink haired chick. She is obviously pretty edgy. Put in YouTube terms, a comparisson would bring me to think of MonroeMisfitMakeup! Personally, this is the type of beauty that should be strutting the runways!I honestly don't completely know who she is. Her face was brought up on Glamour Magazine's website in the makeup tips section. When I Googled her name, it said she is a "Model, Hairdresser, and 'Scenequeen'". She dated Travis Richter and Brenden Urie and is working on a project called Trashy Life with, friend, Zui Suicide. Zui is one of the models for the suicide girls. The Urban Dictionary also said she was on MTV's True Life?? Honestly, I don't know...just repeating what I have read quickly this morning. If any of you guys know about her and the things she has done, PLEASE let me know!
I personally think that she is iconic! Her hair is ALWAYS different and her makeup spectacular! I am going to do some further study on her makeup and try out a look of hers sometime in the near future! In the meantime, I am going to figure out exactly who she is!
CMK2: I know you are into the Suicide Girls photography...you introduced me to it...do you know who she is and what she is all about?? Personally, I think this chick should have her own line of SOMETHING!!! LOL!

Once I make my purchases, I will post photos, but please excuse me if I don't post swatches! These are items that I just may want to keep in the packaging! :) LOL....Im a dork!

Im Back!
I finally got back from my quick trip to the beach! I had a pretty good time since I got to go to the CCO! I was so pumped and ended up staying in there for 2.5 hours filming and chatting with the ladies that work there! I got offered a job and had I had my daughter with me...I would've taken it and left this crap town behind! How I would love to take it...but I really don't want to live on that island...only one way out when there is a hurricane! AHHHH!!! Maybe the next CCO I go to will offer me a job...that one IS in a town I would live in! (And actually planning to move to!)
Anyway...they carry all sorts of brands in there all the way from Clinique, Estee Lauder, & Bobbi Brown...to Origins & MAC...which is of course why I went! LOL! I had the best time hearing how the whole thing works and playing with all their stuff! I learned so much from the ladies that work in there about when stuff hits there stores, so I will plan my next trip around the schedule!
They had just started getting in products from MAC's Hello Kitty Collection and I was amazed at the prices! I ended up getting one of the blushes in Tippy...which I saw listed on eBay and the MUG forum for $30+!!! I got the thing...brand new, mind you...for $12.95! I stuck mostly to blushes getting a Flirt & Tease and Starknaked. I found a CreamColor Base in Pearl for $11 and walked out of there with a 219 for $16.95! I could have spend a friggin fortune in there!!! They just had so many things that I wanted!
I didn't end up with any new eyeshadows, because most of the ones they had, I already had or just really wasn't interested in. Most of those were just discontinued colors...nothing Limited Edition except for the Starflash Collection, which I already picked up on eBay. Their shadows were $10.50 each...and I have been getting them on eBay for cheaper, so I will just stick with that until my Pro card comes in...if it ever does! LOL!
I am going to start working on editing the footage that I shot. It is very choppy since I was trying to film only when there weren't people in there, but that was about impossible since it was Labor Day weekend and everyone and their momma was out shopping at the outlet mall that day! LOL! I didn't talk much in it either, so it will mostly be set to music and captioned, but you will at least get to see what all they had and how it was set up. (The parts that I did talk during, you really couldn't hear me because there were so many friggin women in there gushing about how cheap the MAC was! LOL!!!
Well, during my intro to the vid, I will go into greater detail about this particular shopping trip and I will also film a small haul for you guys...I say small because I just bought 5 items! (I did really good and didn't go over my budget! LOL! YAY!)
I hope you guys all had a fabulous Labor Day Weekend and I will let you know when the vids are posted and hook you up with some photos as well!!! Much love to you guys...as always! Take it easy and have a fantastical day! :)

Major Shopping Weekend!
Wow! I took two days off from work this week to be able to stay home with my daughter and end the summer together with a bang! We have had the BEST time! We have done lots of swimming, playing in makeup, getting hair done, and SHOPPING, of course! So, I am working on my Haul vid, which I have been straying from doing lately because a great deal of people say they don't like them! (I would actually like to know what you guys think on this topic, tho!) However, since I found some stellar deals and discovered some things I didn't really take the time to realize even exhisted, I thought I would share! It will prob end up being a two-parter, so bear with it!
I just wanted to give you guys a bit of an update on what has been happening and also ask what your feelings are about haul vids! I suppose everyone is different and I can't please everyone, but I want to know that I am at least trying! I enjoy showing you guys the deals I stumble across, but at the same time, don't want you to be bored! All comments are always welcome! Thanks so much for stopping by for this quick update and thank you all for subbing to my blog! I really didn't think anyone would...I know I don't have a ton of you guys, but I know I will always remember the first subscribers!!!

Review: Almay Smart Balance/Smart Shade Makeup/Foundation
I purchased this product in the “color” light/medium. However, it really doesn’t come out as a color at all!! (You can see what I mean in my YouTube video review of this product here --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WiQEEVckOz0 I purchased this product at WalMart for a little over $10. (I received a free Smart Shade Concealer with it as well.) I had been scoping this out for a while, seeing the commercials claim to match perfectly to your skin tone and balance out skin for people with combination skin…perfect for me! (They do make a formulation without the “balance” part in it.) Numerous times, I have walked past this item and did not purchase it. I was very scared it would be crap and I had spent this money for nothing. (After all, I can get a MAC shadow for the same price! Lol) Reluctantly, I purchased it this time.
I have been back and forth with my opinion on this product! At first, I ABSOLUTELY HATED IT! I tried so many different application methods and finally gave up after about 4 days of not getting decent results! Only when a sub suggested it, did I give it a try again. (Besides, it had been a while since my last try, I really wanted to provide a fair review!) This time, I was going to skip all the normal application techniques (brush/sponge) and went right for applying with my fingers. I found if I began the product in my hand, I ended up with a better result in the end.
It may sound silly, but I apply 2 layers of this product….very sparingly, mind you. Day one, I only applied one layer, and my complexion ended up being splotchy. Day two, adding the second layer made all the difference in the world as far as appearance goes. I never really had a terrible time with oilyness/greasiness (except in the norm t-zone…a great product would do away with this issue….especially one that claims to help balance out the oily/dry spots of your skin!) By day four of using this product, my skin had broken out. Nothing majorly bad, but bad enough to keep me off YouTube for a while! Argh…this is not what I want to deal with!
I may use this product until it is gone, then again, I may not. I may just kick it down to my girlfriend that has wanted to try it. I had high hopes for this foundation and I was sadly let down. Now, if you are looking for a light coverage, you may have better results than me. I just thought for sure that it would help balance my skin as claimed. The “regular” formula may work better. If you have this formula and have had different/similar results, PLEASE LET US KNOW in the comments below!!! I love to compare notes with people and different opinions generally make a difference as well!
Make sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel at www.YouTube.com/VanitysEdge! I will be posting contest info for the first 100 subs soon! Yay!

Should I be proud of myself? You be the judge...
So, I have been super pumped about MAC's SUMO SALE Online ever since I opened my first email telling me about it! I have blogged reminding people, going to the site everyday for the past week planning what I was going to get and budgeting what I would need. Of course, as always, I waited until the last minute to go to the site and finalize my order. Somewhere between entering the eighth shadow and the fourth palette...I took a step back to analyze what I was really doing. Sure, 25% off is a great deal, especially when it comes to "we never put things on sale" MAC, but looking at my collection of not only MAC but all the other brands made me realize there were things at my vanity that I haven't even opened yet!
I tried to justify the purchase with many different points, the main one being the fact that I have been working on getting this freelance gig off the ground and I really need to make my kit more portable! Sure, that IS true, but right now, with the economy the way it is and the future cost of gas going up at the very least a buck a gallon, really doesn't leave much breathing room when it comes to the finances of a single mom!
So, rather than place the order, I closed the site, took a deep breath (I even shed a little tear), and smiled about my own self-control. I amazed myself, considering how weak I can become when it comes to makeup. Sure, I may regret passing up this deal when I am paying full price for all those items later on, but I also know that this week all my bills will get paid and I can even take a little money and have some fun with my daughter this weekend!
Although I am certainly not trying to gloat about my control, I truly am proud of myself! Especially since this is the very FIRST time I have had money and didn't spend it on a makeup sale! However, I am going to allow myself to buy some beauty products, but something that I have been wanting to try rather than things that I probably have dupes for in my vanity!! My budget simply needs a break for now from all the cosmetic craziness!! I reccommend you all try this type of control at least once. Then, the next time there is a killer sale, you can be excited knowing that this time, you don't have to show ANY self-control! :)
