Still Working on It...

I am going to be doing some filming tonight so I can actually post a YouTube video for you guys!  It has been 2 weeks since my last post there and I am mortified considering one of my New Years' resolutions was to post more often, at least twice a week on YouTube!  But, I suppose I get a pass considering the editing software I have won't support the MP4's that my new camera films in.  Even when I convert the files to AVI, they look all crazy like a widescreen movie compressed to fit a square screen.  But, I will have new software soon enough!  Had my check been a bit better this week...I would have it now!  LOL!

Anyway, i guess this post is just going to be an update of sorts.  Things have been very busy at work this week playing catch up from the holidays, so I really haven't had time to plan out blogs lately.  I apolgoize for that.  I do have some reviews, swatches and such coming soon.  In fact, I am going to work on swatches tonight of some new shadows I got last week!  I am also going to work to put together a look using this new stuff!

I have been tossing around the idea of doing project 10 pan, but everytime I think about seriously doing it, I see pictures of all the new MAC collections coming out!  LOL!  Not that I can really afford to get a bunch of it, but it is nice to dream!  :)

I do have the winner of the giveaway chosen!  It is on a vid...that is stuck on my camera!  That is why I am working diligently, day and night, to figure out how to get it into moviemaker to post for you guys!  Rather than just post a name, I filmed me entering everything into random.org so you guys see, for the first time, with me the winner!  Hopefully, that will be posted by the end of the week, as planned, so I can get the prize sent out!  Just remember to keep commenting!  The MORE you comment, the more chances you get to WIN!!!  The prize this quarter is going to be GREAT!  I will be filming that vid as soon as I have all the components to it!  Yay!  I would LOVE this one!  :)

I would like to ask you guys a question, though!  I started to do an entire post about this, but thought just a mention here would be good enough!  I would like to know what you guys' new years' resolutions are!  :)  Just whatever you have thought about!  Most years, I have a hard time coming up with resolutions...not this year tho!  Let me know!

Let me just say too, thank you all for your support last year!  I really appreciate all the love that I have received since I started my channel and blog!  It really makes me feel great that I am helping some people along when learning this art!  I LOVE doing this more than you guys know and hope that you all are having as much fun as I am!  I can't wait to share all the new things I have planned and get a contest rolling for you all on YouTube as well!!  yay!  So, get ready...2010 is going to be great here at Vanity's Edge!

Done...

I know, I know...this layout is kinda boring, but it is the only thing I could get to work and work properly. The other layouts did not have the nav bar at the top and to me, that makes it a lot more difficult to follow a blog you want to keep up with. I suppose, keeping things simple, will make you life, and mine, a lot easier! Maybe later on down the line, I will decide to spend the cash and have someone design a really killer blog for me! (thanks for the name toshiam, btw!)

Alright, now that all the crazy stuff is over, things are going to get back to normal around here! I have a lot to tell you guys and stuff to show you and review! So, get ready to get back movin along properly!

Troubles....

Alright everyone...I am SO trying to get this silly blog back in order, but I am having a tough time! All I wanted was to find a layout that reflected what the blog was about and sort of my personality. Something pretty to look at and user friendly...needless to say, it has become a bigger hassle than I thought! LOL!

I am really not the worlds greatest with computers and technology and I would kill to have someone design a layout (and do it...lol) just for me and my readers. Since these things cost money and well, its Christmas folks, that just isn't an option right now!

So, if you guys see a different layout everyday, or find issues with the page gadgets not working, never fear...please know I am working to get everything in order! :) I am about to give up and just use one of the simple blogger layouts for now until I can get someone to design a logo or a layout for me. So, if any of you know a great graphic designer that works for reasonable amounts, let me know! I would love to check out their work and possibly utilize their services in the future!

I will be filming tonight...FINALLY! I have you guys' comment goodies to show and announcements about the giveaway to tell that are too much to write! I will make sure to post the vid here, but as always...I love seeing you guys on my channel too!!!

Please Excuse My Mess...

Hey you guys! So I chose a layout for my blog and I am working hard to get it all finished and working correctly! If, for now, links or photos don't work, rest easy, everything will be working normally soon! I have wanted a new layout for the longest long time, but have put it off since there is SO much that goes into putting a new one up! So, if you guys could just bear with me for a moment, I will have it all done in the next couple of days!

I'm here...I promise!

Update time!

I know I seem to have gone mia for the past couple of days, but I am working on things!! First of all, I am getting ready for a yardsale and have been devoting a great deal of my time to that. If you have ever had one, you know how much hard work goes into getting a yardsale done! I really need the cash right now too! I want to post a thanks contest for all the subs that have got me started and will prob do that at around 200 or so. I had hoped to be able to do one at 100, but I just don't think I will be ready when I hit 100...there is just too much going on for me right now! Plus...I really have to figure out the theme of the contest since my barbie look theme was recently jacked...BOO!!! Anyway!

I am also working on getting my BE sale posted on YT. I have not got a ton of response yet and would really like to get this stuff sold/swapped. I am going to try and sell it at the yardsale as well and hope that with it in the ad in the paper, I will have more specialized lookers for those items! Fingers crossed!

I have also done a great deal of halloween shopping/looking this week and weekend! I am coming up with some halloween looks that I am going to be filming soon. In the meantime, I have a library of videos that are ready to be edited and posted as well! If you have any thoughts on halloween looks...let me know! I would LOVE to hear them!

My family and I made a huge decision about halloween this weekend as well! When I was little...around late elementary/middle school age, my mom, my bro, & I would decorate our entire garage and front porch for halloween! It was a huge hit at the time and we would have hundreds and hundreds of people come by our house in the 3-4 hours we left the garage door open. It was SO much fun and the last few years, we have toyed with the idea of doing it again but the kids have not been with us, but with their other parents on halloween in years past. WELL, the year has finally hit where halloween falls on a saturday and ALL the fam's kids will be around!! We are going to haunt our garage again!

This is always a HUGE endeavor, but we have the BEST time doing it! I am going to be the old wicked witch of the house, since my mom doesn't want to dress up. I plan to post a mu tutorial on this makeup soon, once I have all the things I need to do it! It is pretty freaky, but phenomenal makeup! I can't wait to show everyone that and our haunted garage! I will most def do a vid on both! So look forward to that!

Major Shopping Weekend!

Wow! I took two days off from work this week to be able to stay home with my daughter and end the summer together with a bang! We have had the BEST time! We have done lots of swimming, playing in makeup, getting hair done, and SHOPPING, of course! So, I am working on my Haul vid, which I have been straying from doing lately because a great deal of people say they don't like them! (I would actually like to know what you guys think on this topic, tho!) However, since I found some stellar deals and discovered some things I didn't really take the time to realize even exhisted, I thought I would share! It will prob end up being a two-parter, so bear with it!

I just wanted to give you guys a bit of an update on what has been happening and also ask what your feelings are about haul vids! I suppose everyone is different and I can't please everyone, but I want to know that I am at least trying! I enjoy showing you guys the deals I stumble across, but at the same time, don't want you to be bored! All comments are always welcome! Just an update for ya...

I wanted to let you guys know I have not forgotten all the blog posts that I promised. I have been, in fact, working on them and have a great deal of them finished. I am waiting to post until I post the YouTube video that corresponds, so the cross references make sense! I will begin posting these very soon!

I have been taking advantage of the amount of time I have had lately! My daughter went on a mini vaca just with her dad, so I have had a great deal of quiet time without the munchkin! I have used some of the time spending time with girl friends and shopping with my mom, but I have been concentrating a great deal on this love! I worked a lot on one contest entry in particular that I had hoped to come up with something worthy to turn in, but I didn't. I just didn't like how everything turned out! This entry was for the MUG eyeliner only look. The only thing I gained out of this was a crap load of liners!! LOL! I guess I wanted to have a great deal of these colors on hand and did want to try them, but I just wish I could have come up with SOMETHING! Oh, well! I will review the liners I came across for you guys very soon!

So, I just wanted you to know I have NOT forgot you guys! Just working diligently so when my daughter comes back, I don't have to use the time I should be spending with her prior to school starting, on making vids! Plus, since I got my hair all chopped off, I have to get up earlier to fix it, which means if I don't get in bed by 11 pm, I WILL NOT get up! (That cuts work time down as well! boo!) Let me know if you guys are interested in any reviews in particular! I am currently trying to save my cash for the MAC Fall collection (I want one of everything...litterally...i am being serious!) I have never loved a collection so much, so, I won't be able to buy a lot of items (from the drugstore or otherwise), but will be happy to review anything you have seen me use/purchase. I have a long line of them coming up but won't mind to add more or start a list for after I recover from the MAC haulin I will do later this month/first of next month!

Update on Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear

So I have been wearing this nail polish for 3 days now. We are at the halfway point of my work day and I have 3 nails that are slightly chipped at the ends. It doesn't look terrible or anything but because I am so OCD about painted nails, all I want to do is go home and take it off now! The color still looks good and I truly feel that if I hadn't been typing, packing and shipping all morning, I may not have been faced with this issue.

STILL...for $2, this is a good nail polish and on a scale of 1-10, I would give it a 7. (Most of the points for the pretty color and the fact that it only required 2 coats for the nice coverage. I am going to try it with a different top coat and base coat. Maybe there will be a difference then! Let me know your thoughts!!
