I wrote this a week or so ago and still wanted to post it. I have not had access to a computer at all lately and hate that I have not been able to update you all regarding the giveaway and I know this update is terribly late, but here all the same. I have filmed the prize video and just have to get some time on a computer to edit and upload. I will post that for you guys with the date that I will do the drawing. Continue to comment on any post that I put up because EVERY comment counts as an entry up until the drawing. I know this is all screwed up, but I promised to go on with this giveaway even though I have no way to post very often. I hope you all understand what is going on and I truly am very sorry for all the trouble! Anyway…here is the update post that I wrote a couple of weeks ago for you guys….
I hate being so out of touch with you guys! I feel like I have been away from you all for a year or something! Being without a computer is starting to take its toll on me…yes, my name is Laura, and I am an internet and computer addict. I am NOT afraid to admit it because it just drives me crazy insane that I finally discover a creative outlet that I love and cannot work on anything at the moment. I always have to pray for a moment here or there at work to even update here at my blog. So, here is a couple of updates for you.
I have been writing blogs but have not been able to upload lately. These include some NOTD, EOTD, written reviews, etc. As soon as I get some time to get together photos and whatnot, I will post them for your reading pleasure.
The big news/update I need to put out there for you guys is regarding the quarterly giveaway that is set to end March 31st. Because some things have come up, I have not yet purchased the prize I want to get. I would like to extend this quarter’s giveaway on for a bit longer until I get the exact prizes I want to share with a lucky reader! I feel if I am going to give something away, it better be good! LOL! Once I have the prizes purchased, I will make a video that states the last day that comments will be eligible as entries. So, if you are not already subscribed to my YouTube channel, make sure to do so, so the comments you make will give you entries in the giveaway!
I hate to put you all off like this, but I have no choice. I have been working to put back as much money as possible every week to save for my laptop and I now treat that savings as a bill, so it comes before “fun” money. Also, I wanted this prize to be a bit bigger since I may not be holding a giveaway next quarter. I don’t know how soon I will have a computer, which makes it so difficult to communicate with you guys and respond to your comments in a timely fashion. I will let you all know if there will in fact be a giveaway next quarter, in the prize video I post (hopefully this weekend/beginning of next week).
I have a long list of “to do’s” for my YouTube channel and here for my blog. I have had multiple requests that I will address first. I just hope you all understand what is keeping me away. I am really starting to go into withdrawals! Things were going so well and leading into what I hope is going to be a long and prosperous tenure on Blogger and YouTube. I just hope these technical difficulties don’t hinder that from happening!
I hope you are all well and hope you won’t give up on me! Computers and programs are pricey when you work a crummy job like me! LOL! Well, the job isn’t so crummy, but the pay IS! Hahahaha! If any of you have any questions, please email me, as I may not have the time to always check the comments made here. I want to get to any specific questions as soon as possible and I can check my email at work. You can send requests to my email as well. I love hearing from you guys!!!
Take care!

PRIZE ANNOUNCEMENT!!
Drum roll please....I FINALLY GOT YOUR PRIZE FOR THE GIVEAWAY THIS QUARTER! YAY!! I know it took me forever, but I have a VERY good reason why! One of the prizes, no matter where I went, or how many times, the store that carries it didn't have the thing! It felt like I was on a wild goose chase! LOL! But, that is all over now and I have already started planning the prize for next quarter's giveaway so there are no more issues like this again! LOL!
Click to view the Prize Video on YouTube!
SO, without further ado....here are the prizes for our lucky winner!!! OH...if you haven't already read my post of BLOG CONTEST/GIVEAWAY RULES, please do so now!!! If you do not follow the rules, your comments will not be entered. :(
*IF YOU ARE BETWEEN THE AGES OF 13 & 18, PLEASE GET A PARENTS PERMISSION TO ENTER THIS CONTEST AND FOR ME TO SEND THE PRIZE!*
First and foremost, I have 2 Bare Minerals products. The first is Bare Radiance. It is a lovely product that gives the skin a beautiful, bronze glow. Personally, I view the Radiances by Bare Minerals to be sort of similar to MAC MSF's. I know they are totally different products, but this may give those of you that have not used these BE products a bit of an idea. This is a .57g jar. The other jar of BE I have for you is the First Class blush. If any of you watched my Novemeber Favs video on YouTube or if you read the post here regarding my Nov favs, then you saw that this blush was one of the ones I rediscovered this month and fell in love with! When I first got it, I didn't much use it, but since the color is somewhat on the warm side, it has been just perfect for this season! I hope our winner enjoys these as much as I do!
Next, the prize that gave me the most troubles, was the Sonia Kashuck Blending Sponge! I was going to order the more expensive, Beauty Blender, version of this from Sephora tomorrow, but...low and behold when I went to Target tonight, christmas shopping, I FOUND IT! I was very amazed to see that they had completely stocked the cosmetics section! (Even had MORE ELF products on the shelves...going back for some of those!) Guys, I really love this sponge and as long as you care for it properly, it will last you a while! Even if it doesn't, it is only $10 compared to the Beauty Blender which is twice that amount!
The third & final prize is from one of my FAV hair care companies! I have been playing around alot with my hair lately and have tried MANY different things, so I wanted to give a hair prize. My issue with this was the fact that not everyone has the same type of hair, so I wanted to get something that I LOVE and that would work for everyone! This is the Healthy Sexy Hair (Full Size) Set of Pumpkin Rehydrating Shampoo & Conditioner. These products have many stellar Vitamins to care for your hair, UV protectants for chemically or non-chemically treated hair, and many other ways to keep your hair looking hydrated and beautiful! Even if you don't have dry hair, I personally like to use a rehydrating shampoo/conditioner on the weekends when I am giving my hair a break from overbearing products & styling! It's nice to pamper your hair every once in a while!
I know this isn't much, but I wanted to get you guys some things that I absolutely love! Plus, these were purchased with my own money and right here at the holidays, we all know that is tight! LOL!
This contest/giveaway will be ending on the 31st of December (2009). I will then number all of the comment entries, starting with the first open post, and enter them into a randomizer. That will, then, give me the winner! I will post a video on YouTube and a post here as well that announces the winner. I expect the winner to contact me within 2 weeks time, otherwise, the prize will be given to the next randomizer number.
The first quarter comment contest will begin with any posts starting after January 1st and will continue on any and all posts until March 31st. Then, the same events will take place...every quarter! There will always be new prizes and as I get more followers and subscribers on YouTube, I will begin to give 2 & 3 prize winner, great stuff! Remember, the more you comment, the better your chances of winning!

What a Night: Halloween Night Details and Introduction of Giveaway!
Well, for now, the excitement is over. :( Our halloween was fabulous though! We all had the best time regardless of not having sleep at all this week! Hahaha! We got up Saturday and still had to finish our haunted garage, finish my daughters costume, and cook chili. (My mom always makes chili on Halloween...its kind of her start to the fall and winter months.) So, we got up aroun 6 and started to scurry.

I finished up my daughters black cat costume which turned out GREAT! It turned out to be a lot easier than I thought it would be too! She saw a book that my mom had that was photos from the musical Cats on broadway. She fell in love with the costume. I am a terrible painter, so rather than painting the unitard, I decided to use fur. That way, she would be warmer too! I just made some leg warmers and arm warmers out of it then, attached some to the body and voila...DONE! We picked up a cat set with a tail, bowtie and ears, so you know I had to do up the bowtie colar! I sewed on sequins and bells to make it look like one of those bling-bling cat collars that I love so much! Hahaha!
I wanted to paint her face SO bad! I found a killer pic of a child with her face painted like a cat and it was phenomenal how they did it so I worked at tryin to convince her all month to let me. She went back and forth about it, but eventually said she wanted a mask. Rather than getting to the day of and her changing her mind about face painting and having to scurry for a mask, I just got it. Well, she was in such a friggin hurry that she didn't even wear the ears, walked out with out her tail, and refused to wear the mask for anything but this picture! LOL! Kids!!! But, she looked absolutely adorable and had the time of her life! This was the first year that she would go to people's doors by herself and I felt a little sad. I mean...she just seems to not need me much anymore!!! LOL!!!
So, when I was little, my mom always haunted our porch or garage for the occassion! Every year she did a different scene and on Halloween night, there would litterally be van loads of kids/people coming to see what she had done! Needless to say, every year she out did herself! I think I was around age 10 when she stopped doing it because she got a new job and just didn't have the energy. Well, I convinced her that we should do it this year since my daugher and little bro were both going to be there for the first year together in 5 years. We def didnt' give ourselves enough time to work on it so we spent most nights up super late working away, but it came out perfectly and everyone loved it!
We got so many different complements from people saying our sound system and effects were superb (which it was just a boom box in the back and a sound effect box in the front...its all about placement) to people thinking we were ready for hollywood! LOL! Seriously, who would have thought a few masks, costumes, and the right lighting could be so impressive. I must say, it turned out better than we thought it would! When I took the kids out trick or treating, every other person and kid I past were talking about it whether they were saying they had to go see it or they couldn't believe how great and scary it was!
I did take some video during the day and my mom's friend took some at night with his good camera, so I am going to get that from him and post both videos on my YouTube channel. When I get the links ready, I will post them here! I also have more pics and I will include them in a slide show. I just wish I could have got high speed pics of it at night! That is what makes it all come together is the darkness with all the geled lights placed just right! Ambiance is everything!!! LOL!!!
Now....on to me! Hehehe! I decided to be the wicked witch this year. I wanted to be something
ugly! After all, its halloween, plus, I knew it would be really cute with my daughter being a black cat! I haven't dressed up for halloween in years so I knew I really needed to do something that would catch some looks...good or bad...I didn't care!
My mom played the wicked witch in The Wizard of Oz with a touring company she worked with when I was little. I never got to see the play because when they came to my school...I woke up sick! (That's my luck!) So, I found her costume, hat and used the same makeup technique she did with her makeup. I was a little disappointed because I didn't have enough time to do everything I wanted to do. I didn't get to start working on myself until aroun 430 and this is a pretty involved process. Plus, I had to stop a million times to do something for my daughter! Hehehe! Well, once she got dressed, she was sitting on go and every 5 minutes someone would call up the stairs..."ARE YOU READY...YET!???!!!???" It drove me BANANAS!!! So, I just got it all on and skipped all the extra contouring, lashes and extra drawn in wrinkles I had planned. Kind of a bummer, but it still turned out okay...I think!
Needless to say, we had a blast on Halloween! We scored tons of candy, scared some kids to tears, and celebrated like we used to! I seriously love halloween! It is like my Christmas! I know, I know, that is weird...but it is just so much fun! I just wish there weren't so many people out there that ruined it for everyone else. I mean, there just weren't as many people out in our neighborhood and that was because most people in our neighborhood turn their lights off these days! Seriously, we walked 6 streets and the kids only got candy from about 25 houses total. That is unreal! I remember when I was little that if we went to that many streets, we had bags and bags of candy that lasted the entire year!!! LOL!!! It just makes me sad that there are just that many crazies out there that screw this fun night up for all the children! Sorry about the rant...it just bums me out.

What do you guys think??
So, I want to do some new things with my blog that you guys will enjoy. That means, I need your input! I would like to write about and post about things you guys are interested in! :) I see so many people posting their LOTD, hauls, outfits of the day/week, shopping excursions, so on and so forth.
What is it you like about your favorite blogs? What makes you check out the content daily? I know I love to see outfits of the day and LOTD. They always jumpstart my mind into how I could take one component from those looks and make it my own.
Right now, my inspiration is severely lacking. All I can think is the weather has something to do with this issue. I absolutely hate the cold weather and I am a total summer baby! Generally during this time of year, I never want to get out and all I want to do is read, watch movies, or...sleep! LOL! This is why I am turning to you guys to see what it is you guys are thinking you would like to see!
So, let me know in the comments below or email me at Vantiys_Edge@yahoo.com. If you have any killer inspiration photos that you think will jumpstart my enthusiasm again, I would love to take a look at them. Google images have been my friend lately as well as MAC face charts. If you do have a photo you think would help my slump, send it to the email above!
I also want to thank you all for following my blog. I know there are only 18 of you, but seriously, that is more I ever thought I would have! :) So, thanks a million! I am about ready to post the giveaway, so keep your eyes peeled for that and spread the word! :)
Love you guys!
